This black thunderbird pendant was made in the 1950's by Southwestern Artist Leona Caldwell. She was part of the modern craft movement and the Kiva Craft Center in Scottsdale Arizona. This is an unsigned piece but was purchased directly from the family of Leona Caldwell.
The Ghanian disc beads in this necklace are vintage, said to be made from recycled phonograph records. They have a beautiful patina and will only get better with age. Hand strung by us!
