This Ebbets Field hat is covered in symols of "good luck" seen in tattoos on sailors in history.  The symbols were full of meaning and you wouldnt leave home with out at least one to keep you safe.


HOLD FAST- Spelled out on front facing fingers brings sailors good luck while gripping the rigging so they don't let go!


PIG AND ROOSTER- Sailors shipped animals in wooden crates by sea.  When ships went down, the crates floated and the animals inside (usually pigs and chickens) would be the only survivors! Pigs and chickens were common tattoos worn by sailors in hopes it would bring them the same luck.


HORSESHOES- known as a symbol of protection and to give good luck. The legend is believed to date back to the middle ages when witches and evil forces were supposed to be repelled by horseshoes. But hanging a horshoe on the mast of a ship would bring fortune, ends pointing down simply means that the good luck is able to flow out and surround the ship. If the horseshoe is hung with ends up, it will catch good luck.


NUMBER 13- The number 13 is considered to be a very karmic number in numerology. It is associated with the divine, and is said to bring good luck and prosperity to those who embrace it.  SO EMBRACE IT ALREADY!
